You may want to rethink your network strategy; unless your app clearly requires constant network activity, you would do well to heed the system's default peripheral-sleep policies. Nothing ticks off users more than apps that kill battery by insisting that they remain active when the phone's not being used.

But for the ASUS tablet the app will continue to make Http request continuously even when the screen time out occurs.

Are there settings that I am not aware of that allow opened network connections to remain open and activities to continue to function when
the screen times out?
