generic?

Can't you use :

Intent(Context packageContext, Class<?> cls)
Create an intent for a specific component.


So....

startActivity(new Intent(this, this.class);

I haven't tested it though. If this.class doesn't resolve to the
current activity class name, you'll have to figure out a way to get it
there. I think it'll work.
