Hi,

as promised, here is my Apps2Ext2.zip which moves your Apps installed on data/app + data/app-private to ext2 partition.

Installation:

1. Create an additional ext2 partition on top of the normal FAT partition of your SD-card (You can use recovery for that.) sized at least as big as the size of all your apps.
Attention: Repartitioning your SD will delete everything saved on it!

2. Copy Apps2Ext2.zip (for CM 5.2 or later) or Apps2Ext2Samdroidmod.zip (for Samdroidmod) to root of your SD.

3. Boot to recovery.

4. Go to "Mount" menu und mount /data + /system.

5. Go back and apply my .zip using "Apply any zip from SD" menu.

6. Reboot

Apps2Ext2 for Samdroidmod: Attachment 3276

Why you should use Apps2Ext2 instead of Froyo Apps2SD?

Apps2Ext2 is better than Froyo Apps2SD, because when you unmount your SD (like when you want to put things on it using your USB-connection), you only unmount the FAT partition of it, the ext2 keeps untouched.
So while using Froyo Apps2SD, your Apps won't be usable anymore when you unmount your SD, with Apps2Ext2 there are no such problems!
In addition many people using Froyo Apps2SD face a decrease in system performance, using Apps2Ext2 it's even snappier.
The only small issue with this Mod is, that your Apps won't get recognized as downloaded on Market anymore, but you can use aTrackDog for searching Updates or just install the Apps again, then they will be displayed as installed in Market again.

You used Samdroid Apps2SD before and still have your Apps stored on ext2 and not on /data/app + /data/app-private?
Then use the following UPDATE:

Here are two scripts, which only enable Apps2Ext2 function on CM and does not move your Apps from /data/app + /data/app-private to ext2.

The first one is to use, when you have your Apps stored directly on root of your ext2 partition.
Attachment 3280

The second one is to use, when you have your Apps stored on your ext2 partition in app + app-private folders.
Attachment 3281

Installation works the same way as described above, just use Apps2Ext2_Enabler1.zip or Apps2Ext2_Enabler2.zip instead of

Attached Files Apps2SD_Enabler1.zip (2.3 KB) Apps2SD_Enabler2.zip (2.3 KB) Apps2Ext2Samdroidmod.zip (2.4 KB) Apps2Ext2.zip (2.4 KB)
