It looks fine, and enlarges properly in draw9patch.
 
Are you certain the layout where it's used as the background actually gets larger width and / or height?
 
Try setting android:background="#FF008040" or some such to check.

I seems the outer part is transparent, that is why it doesn't fill
your full widget size. It's a trick to make widgets look smaller
than the standard cell size. You need to cut out the transparent
bits to make it work.

And no, no one will do your work for you.
