[android-developers] How do I create a windowed app?

I am creating an app that would look better in windowed (popup style)
mode. How do I get it to be centered in the middle of the screen
instead of fullscreen. I was thinking of having it with a slightly
transparent background with dark borders.

Is there a tutorial or an example of this? All I could find was info
about dialog or alert boxes.
