I could probably teach my nephew how to bypass these apps. He's eight
years old and has never held a smartphone.
The technique these apps use is security theater, more likely to be
used by malware than anybody who truly understands security. I have
suggested to Google that the technique in question is a security risk;
to date, they have declined to address it.
Real security (e.g., your "enterprise" scenario) comes from stuff in
the firmware, as others have indicated.
