Subject: [id-android] [Mod] Samdroid Tools ported to CyanogenMod

monggo dicoba..semoga ngak ruwet kyak yg punya pupy..

Since Froyo's built-in apps2sd function wasn't working on our spicas, I was using my own modified apps2sd scripts which I had to tweak every so often. Soon, I got tired of messing around with recovery scripts (which I had to since I'm on ext2 partitions for system, data and cache). Instead of asking "Pretty please, Leshak, can I have my beloved Samdroid Tools, back?", which would have been a monumental waste of his time, as we need him to look at more critical aspects of getting Froyo to run well on our spicas, I decided to try and get Samdroid Tools onto our CyanogenMod.

Well, a couple of hours later, and seems we've got Samdroid Tools on Cyanogen! (Samdrogen Tools, maybe, eh, shundi82 *wink*). Do note that it's without the "Disable Multitouch" feature, as the single-touch module is not present criminal's CM kernel. (Almost locked myself out of my Spica when I tried it! Had to manually load touchscreen module from adb shell).

So leave all those other scripts which need enablers and such to move apps to SD, or manually backing-up and restoring apps, and instead do the following ...

1. download samdroidtools.zip to sdcard
2. reboot to recovery
3. apply samdroidtools.zip
4. reboot
5. run Samdroid Tools and reminisce about the good ole days of Samdroid :)

Credit still goes to Leshak, the originator, and I hope I just freed up his valuable time to let him work on more important stuff.

(OPTIONAL) Using recovery to format your sdcard_ext2 partition only creates 1K block sizes, which saves space, but is less efficient than using 4k blocks. And also, 5% of space is reserved for root (pointless!). So if you want to have a slight increase in Apps2sd performance, and be able to use up all available space, then apply format_sdext2_4k.zip to format sdcard_ext2 partition, BEFORE you apply samdroidtools.zip. (Note: Format means ALL DATA WILL BE GONE FOREVER) ... but only on the ext2 partition, the 1st fat partition is not affected.

Вложения format_sdext2_4k.zip (925 байт) samdroidtools.zip (28.5 Кб)
