[android-developers] Re: Android 2.3 Vs 3.0

You can get the 2.3.3 API10 from the windows SDK and loop mount
the .img files + copy out what you need or start the SDK emulator and
use androidcommander to pull out what you need. 2.3.3 still needs
some work.

This runs fine on my phone Samsung touchwiz phone.

How:
You will need a working init file from your current froyo / ginger +
kernel image and then use the /sbin and /system folder to create a new
version for you phone.
All other folders can be generated by modifying the init.rc script and
setting correct permissions or you might be able to copy some folders
like data dev proc ect and symlink others. making it into a flash-able
rom file you will need to look at samdroid or cyanogen websites for
more info.

If not sure use the one running on my phone it is on github and go
from there. 2.3.3 is very nice when running on a non android converted
phone. Wifi and bluetooth might have issues unless you use the same
Froyo method to make it work, lcd density defaults to 160 even if
setting it in build.prop .

You might be able to do the same with Honeycomb on your phone as it
seems to have gms data wifi and other options available in the sdk.

Hope this helps, happy modding and no need to wait for some future
Xoom phone.
