[android-developers] Is there any way to know a view's height and width before it is really shown on screen?

Hi Android Developers,

As a request of a function in my app, I need to know a view's height and width before it's really shown on screen. 

Here I want to know whether it is possible? If yes, then how about the performance? Thanks in advance.
