Re: [android-developers] Unknown application a large number of SMS messages are being sent. Select "OK" to continue, or "Cancel" to stop sending

It's likely none of you read this thread anymore... but I tried googling setting up a server gateway to send bulk SMS, and all I could find is paid services.

I'm in charge of sending out notifications of activities to a group of 150 people. I've started using apps on my T-Mobile Nexus S, but I get the Deny/Allow box this thread started with mentioning. Looks like I might have to root my phone to get around it, but I'd rather not if I can help it. If setting up a server gateway is some sort of free possibility I'd rather do that, since it would mean I could allow others to send notifications too. Any suggestions of where to look? Note I finished a Bachelors of Computer Science so I can understand technical stuff if pointed in the right direction, I just don't have any personal experience in this area as of yet :)

Thanks in advance!

Send fewer than 100 messages. That limit has existed for well over a
year and has been discussed several times.

Better yet, send 0 messages from the device, and use a server gateway
to send bulk SMS.
