Do you properly re-use the list-item views in your list-view? 

E.g. in your list-adapter 'getView()' method:

public void View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) {

  if (convertView == null) {

    convertView = inflater.inflate(R.layout.list_item_layout, null);

    ...

  }

  ..

  ...

  return convertView;

}
