Apple's app store is well equipped with 250,000 apps and 70% apps from
them are supplied purely through payment. Whereas, Android's apps 64 %
of the 95,000 are supplied at free of cost from Google's Android
market.

Apple's app store is well equipped with 250,000 apps and 70% apps from
them are supplied purely through payment. Whereas, Android's apps 64 %
of the 95,000 are supplied at free of cost from Google's Android
market.

Here, most of the developers are showing more proclivities towards
Apple than Google as the money making is the primary quest for them.
In fact, Android developer s are already outnumbered the iPhone
developers.

Android is at present not having any approval process and this
creating a chance for the hobbyist apps to float on the Android. Also,
Android encourages its developers to use open-source and Linux
platform. This is another primary reason for the apps availability at
free of cost in Google's Android market.

Here, another important thing is that the Apple's devices and iPhone
already popular all over the world than Android based smartphones.
Today we can see customers purchasing apps from Apple store from 95
countries. At present, Android smartphone apps purchasers are only in
13 countries and 9 countries developers are permitted to sell apps on
android market.

Some of the developers are still apprehensive about the Android market
and taking a back step thinking that is not yet lucrative. But, some
latest news revealed that a developer named Arron La made $80,000 from
his Advanced task manager app in the Android market from 2009 to 2010.
This is indicating that Android is definitely a viable platform for
revenue stream for all the developers. Mr. La wrote in his blog about
his earning as "Although $80,000 total isn't a lot compared to some of
the overnight millionaire stories you hear about on the iPhone App
Store (not sure if this is before or after Apple's cut), you are able
to generate good returns".
